LeBron is Going Home

When I heard the news Friday morning I was very surprised. Probably just as surprised as the decision in 2010. In both cases it seemed more and more possible that LeBron James would be moving the longer his decisions dragged on but his choices still shocked me both times. I feel like Miami would have given him the best chance of getting a title next year and I am sure LeBron believes that too, but it appears that LeBrons goals are different than what I thought. He does not care so much about chasing as many championships wherever he can get them as much as he cares about his roots in northeast Ohio.

LeBron probably feels he has accomplished just about every thing he wanted when he came into the NBA. Multiple league MVP’s, finals MVP’s, all star game MVP’s, all NBA team, all defensive team, the list goes on and on, and now he has championships. The biggest goal he had when he came to the league that he still has not fulfilled is bringing an NBA championship home to Cleveland. That is what he now has a chance to do. LeBron admitted himself that it will be a challenge and probably very frustrating at times. He definitely does not sound as confident about winning right away as he did when he went to Miami. But going back feels right to him. Home is where LeBron wants to be for the rest of his career and I do not think Cleveland has to worry after his two year deal is up. Although I have been wrong twice before.

Seriously though, LeBron will most likely be in Cleveland for the rest of his career and this is such a great story. I have always been a fan of LeBron. When he left Cleveland I was not mad at him at all. I will admit I was a little disappointed because I thought it would have been that much cooler if he won his first championship with the Cavs. I still supported him but I will probably be rooting for him even more now. LeBron means so much to that city and there is no better way than for the kid from northeast Ohio to end the drought of championships in Cleveland professional sports.
